Eclipse Season

Eclipse’s

Solar Eclipse

Solar eclipses always are on a new Moon. This happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. Solar eclipses are more rare than our Lunar eclipses due to our Moons orbit being tilted 5 degrees to our Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Learn more on this Hybrid eclipse on the link. Read more on the north and south nodes of the moon Rahu and Ketu (nodes are about Karma) The planetary alignment right now and how you can get a better understanding of how to harness your life flow. Past karmas and future intentions to move through the next 6 months to 2 years.

How does this effect us or me?

What does this mean from a Jyotish perspective?

Eclipse Season!

As you may or may not know Jyotish is “The science of light” which is the Vedic discipline for keeping time and is 23 degrees behind the tropical calendar. Vedic astrology emphasizes the Moon (Mind) placement instead of the Sun (Ego/soul) which will place differently than a tropical zodiac chart reading. Eclipse periods are very significant and happen 4 to 6 times year.

This Eclipse is especially powerful as hybrid eclipses are the most rare of 3 eclipse types. This eclipse begins at the beginning of the zodiac Ashwini. This is a healing energy and also means twins (two halves as one) It’s a balancing and a deep connection we have to all directions but foremost our left and right side, connecting to our central channel. Eclipses open things up bringing heightened energies and frequencies of change. Eclipse time is a potent time a time to connect to self, a place where you can release past (karma) Start a fresh with intentions and aspirations. Eclipses can bring quantum leaps that reveal to us later.

Solar eclipses bring expansive darkness which expands all our other senses and scope of increasing energies. This will be expressed to us in the ways our birth chart maps us as individuals to show the current planetary alignment. How eclipses can and will affect you us (I am available for consultation readings where you can book a session)

The Sun and the Moon are the heartbeat of the Earth. Sun as King (Leo rules) Moon as Queen (Cancer rules) As we all know our ancestors assessed mostly all life by the cycles of Sun and moon, new or full Moon to their rhythm and direction to time with the visible planets and constellations. In ancient times a solar eclipse generated fear. They thought the world would come to an end or a great evil would follow. Myths often involved a beast trying to destroy the Sun with the fate of the Earth uncertain. Eclipses therefore were regarded as bad omens. Shadowed darkness created and still creates fear, but this is not necessarily so if we listen into the pause point of dark to light.

This is where the lunar nodes hold great importance astronomically and significantly in Hindu astrology and a natives birth chart. They are also unique to Vedic astrology..

Lunar Nodes (Axis’s of Karma)

These lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu considered shadow planets are the points in space where the eclipses happen, the alignment of the earth, the Moon and the Sun. Rahu is the north node of the Moon and responsible for causing the eclipse of the sun. Rahu rules zodiac sign of Aquarius. Saturn is ruling planet. Ketu is the south node of the moon and responsible for causing the eclipse of the Moon. Ketu rules Scorpio zodiac sign. Mars is ruling planet. These karmic Axis points, nodes are present karma (Rahu) and past karma (Ketu) These nodes are sensitivity points and triggering points in our lives. The invisible link between present and past lives and the psychological dilemmas of the present. This being said eclipses are a time to listen, meditate and beneficial to stay grounded and quiet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketu_(mythology)

Rahu and Ketu have orbital cycle of 18 years and always 180 degrees from each other orbitally. Rahu and ketu take a year and a half to transit each sign (Rasi) These karmic nodes move in retrograde motion constantly (counter clockwise)

`In the mythology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samudra_Manthana Rahu and Ketu are the two halves of the demon (Asura) Svarbhanu, who was a snake like demon who emerged with the churning of the milky ocean. The disc of Vishnu sliced Svarbhanu in two. Rahu became the snake head with no body, Ketu the snake body with no head. This is significant of their energies. Ketu (past karma) discontent with all except liberation in the ocean of spirit and spiritual realization. Rahu (present karma) is the ambition for desires that can never satisfy the soul. Rahu is forever searching for its lost half. Ketu is the exploration to understand our past connections to become whole again.

These Karmic Axis’s Ketu and Rahu provide a roadmap of your past life history and current life intentions for healing and evolution. Pluto has a big impact influencing Rahu and Ketu. As you may already know Pluto just moved into Aquarius until 2043 after being in Capricorn for 14 years. Pluto will retrograde back into Capricorn from time to time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluto

The next eclipse will be the penumbral full Moon lunar eclipse, then the annular solar eclipse, to follow the partial lunar eclipse so a total of 4 in 2023. These will be areas to assess, insights available for us and dramatic tools available that the universe uses to get us to pay attention to whats needed for our life.

So naturally Lunar and Solar cycles create the foundation, Moon moves every 2 to 3 days through a sign (Rasi) and Sun every month. The zodiac as you know the Moon every 27 to 29 days and the Sun 1 year.

Moon in Leo

Eclipses essentially hold great importance and glimpses into our past, present and future with Ketu and Rahu. Not forgetting our transformational planet Pluto (dwarf planet) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarf_planet)

This is essentially our journey and there is so much to take into consideration as we can clearly see.

My question that cycles naturally and always in Yoga practice and Jyotish consultation is how can I best serve you?

What is most important right now?!
