Nourished Heart Yoga

Ahimsa

The first yama is Non violence (from Patanjali’s 5 yamas) First instruction if you will that become impulses of our heart when we tend to them and claim the sacred space. The practice of Ahimsa is a loving lens in which we reflect our true compassionate heart. Can we be this, here with love and compassion? Yes!

It’s true that the essence of our noble heart is the altruistic heart compassionately reaching out to the world. This is the key, can we be this to ourselves first?

Yes, be this for yourself~

From the book “Being Peace” by Thich Nhat Hanh “Root out the violence in your life, and learn to live compassionately and mindfully. Seek peace. When you have peace within, real peace with others is possible”

When it comes to our life and especially to our yoga mat we can dedicate practice and flow by just becoming present with ourselves. We can begin this with a non judgemental gaze. We can start at the back of our mat if we need soulful confidence. Moving slowly and tenderly feeling the lunar gentle quality. Or, begin from the front of our mat in a more solar, purifying way if we need more time to quieten our frontal brain.  Inviting more time to relieve excess energy and our mind to shift and slow down as we unfold into our practice. We may ask ourself

Where do we need love? Where in our body? Our life?

We can look within and feel the sun in our heart. Feel this soul love. We can become disciples unto ourselves in these times of change and have unwavering loving support.

We only need to begin with tenderness, closing our eyes, feeling the light at the back of our eyes, streaming down and melting into our heart. Take a moment to meditate, slowly releasing any grip and conditioning constraints.
